## 1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using MoviePal ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
These Terms constitute an agreement between you and MoviePal only, not with Apple Inc. MoviePal is solely responsible for the App and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for the App.
## 2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use MoviePal. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
## 3. User Accounts
### 3.1 Account Creation- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
### 3.2 Account TerminationWe reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, including but not limited to:- Creating multiple accounts- Providing false information- Violating our content guidelines- Engaging in abusive behavior
## 4. User Content Guidelines
### 4.1 Zero Tolerance PolicyMoviePal has **ZERO TOLERANCE** for objectionable content. Users who violate these guidelines will face immediate action, including content removal and account termination.
### 4.2 Prohibited ContentYou may not post, share, or create content that:- Contains hate speech, harassment, or bullying- Includes adult, sexual, or sexually suggestive content- Promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal activities- Contains threats or intimidation- Includes discriminatory content based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics- Violates intellectual property rights- Contains spam, malware, or deceptive content- Includes personally identifiable information of others without consent- Uses offensive, inappropriate, or vulgar language in usernames, tier list names, or any other user-generated content
### 4.3 Username PolicyUsernames must be appropriate for all audiences. We reserve the right to change or remove usernames that:- Contain profanity or offensive language- Impersonate others- Include discriminatory terms- Violate any other content guidelines
## 5. Content Moderation
### 5.1 Automated FilteringWe employ automated systems to filter and prevent inappropriate content from being posted. Content that violates our guidelines will be blocked before publication.
### 5.2 User ReportingUsers are encouraged to report content that violates these Terms. Report features are available throughout the App for:- Inappropriate tier lists- Offensive usernames- Abusive users- Any other content violations
### 5.3 Response CommitmentWe commit to reviewing and responding to all valid content reports within **24 hours**. Actions may include:- Content removal- User warnings- Temporary account suspension- Permanent account termination
### 5.4 False ReportingAbuse of the reporting system, including false or malicious reports, will result in account penalties.
## 6. User Blocking
Users may block other users to prevent unwanted interactions. When you block a user:- They cannot view your tier lists or profile- They cannot send you friend requests- Their content will be hidden from you- The blocking relationship is private
## 7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:- Use the App for any illegal purposes- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems- Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code- Use automated systems or bots to access the App- Collect or harvest user information- Use the App to send unsolicited communications
## 8. Intellectual Property
### 8.1 Your ContentYou retain ownership of the tier lists and content you create. By posting content, you grant MoviePal a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content within the App.
### 8.2 MoviePal ContentAll App content, features, and functionality are owned by MoviePal and are protected by intellectual property laws. Movie and TV show information is provided by third-party services and is subject to their respective terms.
## 9. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services including:- Google Sign-In for authentication- The Movie Database (TMDB) for movie information- Firebase for backend services
Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

## 11. Disclaimers and Limitations
### 11.1 Service AvailabilityThe App is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
### 11.2 Content AccuracyMovie and TV show information is provided by third-party sources. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of this information.
### 11.3 AI RecommendationsAI-generated movie recommendations are provided for entertainment purposes only and may not reflect your actual preferences.
### 11.4 Limitation of LiabilityTo the fullest extent permitted by law, MoviePal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the App.
## 12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MoviePal from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:- Your violation of these Terms- Your violation of any rights of another party- Your user-generated content- Your use of the App
## 13. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
## 14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.
## 15. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's rules.
## 16. Apple-Specific Terms
### 16.1 Apple's RoleApple is not responsible for:- The App's content or functionality- Any claims related to the App- Maintenance or support services- Any product warranties- Intellectual property claims
### 16.2 Third-Party BeneficiaryApple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and have the right to enforce these Terms against you.
### 16.3 Licensed Application End User License AgreementYour use of the App is subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, incorporated herein by reference.
