When you use MoviePal, we collect information that you provide directly to us:
- **Account Information**: When you sign in with Google, we collect your name, email address, and Google user ID- **Profile Information**: Display name and profile picture (if you choose to add one)- **User Content**: Movie and TV show tier lists you create, ratings, and reviews- **Social Connections**: Information about friends you connect with on the platform

When you authenticate using Google Sign-In, we access the following Google user data:- **Basic Profile Information**: Your name, email address, and Google account ID- **Profile Picture**: Your Google profile photo (if available)
We use Google Sign-In solely for authentication purposes and do not access any other Google services or data beyond what is necessary for account creation and login.

When you use MoviePal, we automatically collect certain information:

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

**Friend Connections**: Your tier lists and profile information are shared with friends you explicitly connect with.

**Public Sharing**: If you choose to make tier lists public, they will be visible to other MoviePal users
Service ProvidersWe share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our App:- **Google Firebase**: For authentication, analytics, and push notifications- **AI Service Providers**: For generating movie recommendations (data is anonymized)

Legal Requirements We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
Business Transfers If MoviePal is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

Where We Store Your DataYour data is stored on secure servers provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest.

Retention PeriodWe retain your personal data for as long as you have an active account with MoviePal. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.
Deletion RightsYou have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. To delete your account and all associated data:

Upon account deletion:- Your personal information will be permanently removed from our systems- Your tier lists and reviews will be deleted- You will be disconnected from all friend connections- This action cannot be undone

MoviePal is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
